Project Description: Located at the east end of the Union Gas Dawn Parkway system near Milton, ON, the expansion of the Union Gas Parkway Compressor Station was completed over two phases in 2006 and 2007. Raven Construction Management Inc. was contracted for the civil work.

Project Scope:

• Berm relocation (approx. 10,000 CM), site preparation and grading activities in support of temporary construction facilities including: parking, laydown and construction trailers

• Excavate and backfill

• Form and pour foundation

• Construct access road

• Final grading

Highlights: As the project was executed within an existing operating facility, trenching for large bore piping was very challenging due to the complexity of installing new piping through existing underground services which then had to be tied into the existing facility.

High water tables at the Project site created significant challenges with respect to the dewatering of multiple excavations simultaneously.
