Project Description: Located near Strathroy, ON, this job would take place just in the span of four months. This is the Adelaide Wind Power Project. This job consists of 18 Siemens 2.3MW wind turbine bases and a building foundation to control their operations.

Project Scope: RAven Construction was awarded the civil contract by EPTCON for the scope detailed below:

• Site preparation: Creating a construction access road to the site, clearing and grubbing

• Excavation and backfill operations

• Surveying control and caisson drilling for wind turbine bases

• Formwork, rebar and cast-in-place concrete installation for turbine bases, building foundations and slabs

• Foundation waterproofing

• Final site grading, asphalt for station driveway and security fence installation

Highlights: The project is located on cultivated agricultural land and is covered mostly by a clay soil condition. The close proximity location to Lake Huron and the St. Clair River made for many environmental considerations during the project to make as little impact on the surrounding land as possible, including silt fences and contaminated site water disposal.
