Project Description: Located near Goderich, ON, The Ashfield K2 wind station at 84655 tower line road project commenced to manage and control the future wind farm installations in the surrounding area.

Project Scope: RAven Construction was awarded the civil contract for EPTCON on this new station. The work included:

• Excavation and backfill operations

• Access road construction

• Surveying control and drilling of caissons

• Formwork, rebar and structural steel anchor bolt templates for caissons and building foundation

• Cast-in-place concrete installation for caissons and buildings

• Foundation waterproofing

• Chain-link and wooden fence installation

• Duct bank installations

• Supply and install doors and hardware

• Final grading of site area and Asphalt construction for site driveway

Highlights: The original location of the project was a greenfield site in the middle of a rural county. This remote area caused extra considerations and preparations for delivery of materials to site for construction, as well as out of town work

               Extra care was taken to ensure construction debris and water was kept out of the local environment and properly disposed of during this large-scale construction operation. Work continued through the cold winter months where best practices were followed for heating and hoarding to ensure concrete integrity was met.
