Project Description:  Construction of a 230/27.6kV Municipal Transformer Station for Festival Hydro Inc located in Stratford, ON.

Scope: Raven Construction was responsible for all civil activities associated with the construction of the new facility. Our scope included:

• Daylight, excavation and backfill operations

• Yard drainage and grading

• Formwork, rebar and cast-in-place concrete for yard foundations, control building foundation, transformer containment and transformer blast wall

• Duct bank installations

• Shoring structural PERI system installation for suspended work structures

• Underground piping, manholes and catch basin installation

Highlights: PERI formwork system used not only for all the wall formwork on the project, but the design of the shoring systems used for suspended slabs and decks to work on the 6-8 meter tall wall sections in multiple stages.
