Project Description: Project located in Etobicoke, ON, involved the construction of a new MV GIS Building for Hydro One at their Horner Transformer Station

Scope: Raven Construction was responsible for all civil activities associated with the construction of the new building. Our scope included:

• Excavation and backfill operations

• Yard drainage and grading

• Formwork, rebar and cast-in-past concrete for building foundation and slab on grade

• Foundation waterproofing

• Form and pour suspended slab

• Install built up roof parapet

• Pour roof topping

• Supply and install all doors and hardware

• Supply and install suspended ceilings and bathroom finishes

Highlights: New building was located at the low point on the site and water was a constant issue, RAven Construction managed to control the water with the use of 2 large sumps on the East side of the building, maintaining the water level below the new foundations.

All material had to be delivered on an as needed basis, there was no extra room on site for material storage.
