Client: Region of Waterloo
Location(s): Waterloo, ON
Contract Type: Fixed
Contract Value: $300,000.00
Project Duration: 4 Months
Project Status: Complete
Project Description: Located around various places in the city of Waterloo, ON, RAven Construction created foundations for artwork to be displayed for the public. Notable areas include Conestoga Station at Conestoga Mall, Old Albert St and Fairview Station at Fairview Park Mall.
Project Scope: RAven Construction worked directly for representatives of the region of Waterloo for the following scope:
Excavation and backfill operations
Roadway traffic control, sidewalk pedestrian delineation and lane blockages coordinated through the city directly during construction activities
Formwork, rebar and cast-in-place concrete foundations for artwork displays
Foundation waterproofing
Re-instatement of sod, seeding and sidewalk repairs
Highlights: This took a tremendous coordination effort and pre-job setup to not only ensure public safety during construction activities but worker protection from busy roads and locations throughout Waterloo.
Every morning we had to set out delineation on roadways to properly divert traffic so we could commence our work safely and remove these barriers at the end of each day. Despite this repetitive work our jobs around waterloo were completed ahead of schedule and ready for the artistic displays.
