Project Description: Located in Hamilton at McMaster University, a new transformer will be built in an existing station and commissioned before the removal of the old and active transformer.

Project Scope: RAven Construction Management Inc, will handle the new construction of the transformer foundation and containment as well as any demolition needed to make the foundation work in the space provided. The civil work scope to be complete for State Group is as follows:

• Daylight, excavate and backfill operations

• Formwork, rebar and cast-in-place concrete installation of transformer containment, building slabs and electrical support stands

• Foundation waterproofing

• Pre-cast trench and duct bank installation

• Final grading of station site and asphalt repairs

Highlights: Large chances of aquatic and other wildlife such as deer in conservation area right at the work site. We ensured proper construction fence was complete with silt fence to stop creatures from entering construction zone. Many University students were studying turtles and species in area surrounding site, we kept construction debris contained and prevented water from entering and destroying surrounding swamps/ponds.
